Clinical Product Manager
The Clinical Product Manager is responsible for a variety of product development, marketing, sales and customer support activities related to Medsphere software solutions. Responsibilities include defining clinical requirements for new products, management of product evaluations and key customer relationships, and ensuring a high level of customer and sales support for responsible product lines. Developing a strong relationship with customers is essential in order to define and develop design specifications, and ensure that new features meet customer needs. Clinical experience is required. This position works closely with all internal departments, including Sales and Marketing, Client Services (implementation and support) Development and Quality Assurance.
The position is located in the Medsphere corporate offices in Carlsbad, CA.
Responsibilities
- Document clinical market challenges for both existing and future customers
- Develop user need and use cases for product requirement specifications based on customer input and feedback
- Serve as clinical product representative on specific development projects; participate in project progress meetings and design reviews, and work closely with project leaders and management to ensure product development productivity
- Manage the design validation and clinical evaluation process, ensuring that key customer-driven design requirements are satisfied
- Manage the clinical enhancement evaluation and prioritization process
- Monitor customer satisfaction with product lines and initiate improvements/corrective actions as necessary to ensure customer expectations are exceeded
- Collect clinical data and assist with the development of clinical marketing, education and training materials
- Plan, coordinate and staff education and training seminars on assigned clinical applications
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years experience in nursing or other clinical field
- Minimum 3 years experience in marketing and/or product management
- VistA and/or commercial EHR experience desired
- Project management experience desired, including running software beta programs
- Ability to identify and review different clinical workflow approaches and objectively evaluate best practices
- Experience working with software development lifecycle methodologies
- Excellent communication skills, especially in sharing complex medical concepts with non-clinical staff
- Strong experience in project management with a proven track record of on-time delivery; ability to make reasonable tradeoffs and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communications skills
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Available for 25% travel
