Medsphere’s Bobbie Peterson Joins Board of HIMSS, National Capital Area Chapter

VP of federal business development elected membership and outreach committee chair for 2013-2014

Carlsbad, Calif. - Medsphere Systems Corporation, the leading provider of affordable and interoperable healthcare IT solutions, today announced that Bobbie Peterson, vice president for government business development, has joined the board of the Health Information Management and Systems Society’s (HIMSS) National Capital Area (NCA) chapter. Ms. Peterson was also elected chair of the membership and outreach committee for 2013-2014.

Ms. Peterson’s new leadership position with the HIMSS NCA chapter will enable her to engage more actively with the Washington, DC, health IT community to address healthcare overhaul challenges such as meaningful use, ICD-10 coding, and electronic health record integration and interoperability issues.

With more than 20 years of diverse experience in business development and management, Ms. Peterson has played key roles in federal health IT and biomedical research business acquisition at several large health IT companies. Her commitment to health IT is evidenced by active participation in the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Bethesda, the Open Source Electronic Health Record Agent (OSEHRA), the American Council for Technology - Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), and the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Ms. Peterson holds a master of science in Information Systems Technology from the George Washington University and is recognized as both a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare and Information Management Systems (CPHIMS).
