Somerset, NJ – December 22, 2011 – Wellsoft Corporation is pleased to announce that Pikeville Medical Center, in Pikeville, Kentucky, is live with Wellsoft’s Emergency Department Information System (EDIS). Pikeville Medical Center, a 261 bed hospital, provides cares for more than 38,000 ED patients each year and was named National Hospital of the Year by American Alliance of Healthcare Providers for 2010 – 2011.
A key feature of this implementation includes the integration between Wellsoft EDIS and the hospital information systems to support Emergency Department workflows. Using HL7 compliant interfaces to support CPOE, results reporting, and bi-directional exchange of medications and allergies, Wellsoft is integrated with Pikeville Medical Center’s current suite of McKesson products.
“Wellsoft as a company and as a software package has been extremely refreshing to implement,” said Rusty Shanklin, Information Systems/Information Technology Director. “Their ability to adapt to and optimize the experience of the users has set the bar high for future system implementations.”
“We are excited to partner with Pikeville Medical Center to meet their goals of increasing efficiency and enabling the staff to focus on patient care,” said John Santmann, President of Wellsoft. “We look forward to helping Pikeville Medical Center provide the best possible care to the residents in and around Pikeville, Kentucky.”
