Clinical Project Manager – EHR Implementation

The Clinical Project Manager is responsible for managing implementation planning, training, deployment, optimization and support for the CareVue electronic health record (EHR). The successful candidate will be a proactive multi-tasker who is comfortable managing a large professional team in a rapidly changing environment.  Experience in healthcare and/or software development are musts, as is the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills. The Clinical Project Manager acts as a liaison between the Medsphere implementation team and all levels within and outside the organization.

As a Clinical Project Manager at Medsphere, you’ll get to:

  • Contribute product knowledge, practical experience, and customer feedback to the development of new clinical product features and functions
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure appropriate transfer of knowledge and incorporation of business and clinical workflows into new products
  • Work closely with technical and integration counterparts to ensure key deliverables work seamlessly with clinical workflow
  • Manage the CareVue deployment process: respond to customer proposals, implement planning and methodology development, recommend best practices with specific emphasis on nursing processes:
    • Workflow analysis
    • Clinical documentation
    • Risk management
  • Participate in on-site assessments to incorporate clinical transformation policy and procedure requirements into the standardized Medsphere implementation methodology
  • Utilize best practice methodologies for implementation; incorporate business and clinical workflow processes
  • Participate in all aspects of customer training
  • Effectively build your team to promote efficient and effective project management output
  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing project management goals and procedures
  • Ensure that schedule and budget goals for each project are consistently met
  • Meet with executive management to provide status updates on the progress of contracted work and report any issues that arise
  • Communicate and provide status updates to the customer regarding progress to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled

Ideal Skills, Background and Expertise

  • Bachelor of Nursing or 5 years of experience as a registered nurse or other healthcare provider
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in successful team participation and/or management of implementing clinical documentation, CPOE
  • Knowledge of nursing practice workflow in complex healthcare systems across the continuum of care
  • Experience with the clinical transformation / optimization processes required for successful adoption of information technology
  • A creative and innovative team player with the proven ability to build good relationships with internal and external contacts / customers; diplomacy, flexibility, and a passion for service
  • Proficiency with software applications that support management responsibilities
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking ability
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on previous experience communicating across all levels of the clinical organization
  • Track record of providing consistent customer service experience
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally; annual travel is estimated at 75 percent
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification preferred
