SUMMARY OF TESTING METHODS AND KEY FINDINGS

As Wellsoft EDIS is marketed and used within an Emergency Department setting and certified to 170.315(f)(2) Transmission to public health agencies – syndromic surveillance, the ability to capture syndromic information is important to our end users and is a key piece of interoperability if that information becomes available during the emergency department visit. Our approach in gathering the total number of transactions related to this function and analyzing the transactions over time will help us understand the usability within our system.

STANDARDS UPDATES (INCLUDING STANDARDS VERSION ADVANCEMENT PROCESS (SVAP) AND UNITED STATES CORE DATA FOR INTEROPERABILITY (USCDI))

No, none of my products include these voluntary standards.

Standard (and version)This product utilizes all standards associated with the 2015 certification method

Care Settings

Emergency Department care settings were used to obtain the results for this report.

Metrics and Outcomes

It was expected that clients would be able to transmit HL7 messages related to syndromic surveillance without limitations and in compliance with the certification criteria, including the technical standards and vocabulary code sets. We did anticipate some delay on first attempts due to network connectivity allowing for a 10% error rate, however, our results indicated a 100% success rate. One other observation that was made by analyzing this data showed that the heaviest volume occurred in the second quarter.
